Jordan, OECD Move To Deepen Partnership On Modernizing Transport Networks

Amman, Nov. 18 (Petra) -- Transport Minister Nidal Qatamin held talks on Tuesday with a delegation from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to explore new areas of collaboration aimed at advancing Jordan's transport sector.
The discussions focused on tapping into the OECD's extensive global expertise, particularly in shaping policies that support the development of efficient, modern, and regionally connected transport networks. The talks also covered opportunities to boost operational performance, strengthen institutional frameworks, and promote sustainable transport initiatives.
Qatamin underscored the ministry's commitment to forging strong partnerships with international organizations and integrating leading global practices into Jordan's transport modernization efforts. The meeting included Carlos Conde, Head of the OECD's Middle East and Africa division, the National Coordinator for the OECD Project in Jordan Reem Badran, and international cooperation specialists.
The OECD delegation affirmed the organization's willingness to provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to help Jordan enhance its transport infrastructure and improve regional connectivity.
