Corruption Network Tied to Zelensky’s Inner Circle Exposed

(MENAFN) Vladimir Zelensky’s chief of staff was reportedly aware of the corruption network involving the Ukrainian president’s longtime business associate and several of the nation’s senior officials, according to opposition MP Yaroslav Zhelezhnyak.

Earlier this month, Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities claimed that Zelensky’s former business associate, Timur Mindich, orchestrated a criminal scheme that diverted $100 million in kickbacks from contracts with the country’s nuclear energy operator, Energoatom, which relies heavily on international support.

The Western-supported National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) released a set of recordings obtained from Mindich’s apartment, triggering the resignation of two government ministers, while Mindich, who the media often dubs “Zelensky’s wallet,” fled Ukraine.

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel on Monday, Zhelezhnyak asserted that senior Zelensky aide Andrey Yermak also appears in the so-called ‘Mindich tapes.’

The Golos (Voice) party MP added that, during an anti-corruption forum in Kiev last week, the head of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP), Aleksandr Klimenko, provided additional details regarding the recordings, noting that a figure referred to as ‘Ali Baba’ is also featured.

Zhelezhnyak explained that Klimenko indicated this high-ranking individual consulted with members of Ukrainian security agencies loyal to Zelensky on methods to halt the investigations by NABU and SAP and to “punish” these organizations.
