Hamas Rejects UN Resolution On Gaza, Calls It Unfair To Palestinians

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Hamas rejected the U.N. Security Council resolution endorsing the U.S.-backed Gaza plan, calling it unfair to Palestinians and warning international forces would favor Israeli interests.

Hamas has rejected a U.N. Security Council resolution endorsing a U.S.-backed Gaza plan proposed by President Donald Trump. The militant group argued that the resolution fails to address Palestinian rights and demands.

In a statement, Hamas condemned the resolution as a form of international guardianship over Gaza, asserting that it would not meet the aspirations of Palestinians. The group said it sees the decision as an attempt to impose foreign control on the region.

The resolution, which was drafted by the United States, includes provisions for the establishment of a neutral international force within Gaza. However, Hamas claimed that assigning these responsibilities to an international body would undermine Palestinian sovereignty and transform the force into a tool supporting Israeli interests.

According to Hamas, the role of an international force in Gaza-particularly the disarmament of resistance groups-would strip it of neutrality. The group argued that this would effectively align the force with Israeli objectives, further deepening the conflict.

Hamas reiterated its stance that resistance against Israel is a legitimate and necessary right for Palestinians. The group vowed to continue its efforts to oppose Israeli occupation by any means necessary, rejecting what it sees as an unjust international intervention.

The rejection of the U.N. resolution highlights the ongoing tensions in Gaza, where efforts to find a lasting peace remain elusive. Hamas' stance underscores the group's resistance to any peace process perceived as unfavorable to Palestinian interests.

As the situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, analysts say that the conflict could intensify unless meaningful dialogue and compromise are reached. Both international and regional powers are under pressure to find a solution that addresses the complex dynamics of the region.
