Türkiye Continues to Deliver Aid to Gaza
(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Monday that Türkiye is persisting in sending humanitarian assistance to Gaza despite “various disruptions caused by Israel.” He cautioned that lasting stability in the region cannot be achieved while the occupation of Palestine continues.
Following a Cabinet session in Ankara, Erdogan emphasized that regional nations cannot experience genuine safety as long as Palestinians continue to suffer, lose their territory, and remain without an established state of their own.
He highlighted that the Turkish Red Crescent’s 18th Goodwill Ship—transporting nearly 800 tons of supplies such as winter blankets, key food items, and other vital materials—reached Egypt’s al-Arish port on Friday en route to Gaza.
The organization is also sustaining daily hot meal services for 35,000 individuals in Gaza and assisting hospitals and medical operations run by the Palestinian Red Crescent.
Although a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel has technically been in effect since Oct. 10, Israel has been accused of breaching it repeatedly, resulting in hundreds of Palestinian casualties.
Since October 2023, Israeli assaults have reportedly led to the deaths of more than 69,000 people—primarily women and children—and caused injuries to over 170,000 individuals, rendering much of the territory nearly unlivable.
Erdogan added, “Hamas remains committed to the agreement it signed despite all provocations from the Netanyahu government and is fulfilling its obligations. We also see that the US administration, under President Trump, is taking a constructive approach on this issue.”
