4Th Round Of PLI Scheme For White Goods Attracts Rs 1,914 Cr In Investment Commitments, Majority From Msmes


(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Nov 13 (KNN) The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has received 13 applications under the fourth round of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for White Goods (Air Conditioners and LED Lights), reflecting investment commitments worth Rs 1,914 crore.

The application window, which was open from September 15 to November 10, 2025, led to more than half of the new applicants being Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), highlighting the growing participation and confidence of smaller manufacturers in the air conditioner and LED components value chain.

Of the 13 applicants, one is an existing beneficiary under the scheme, pledging an additional Rs 15 crore investment.

Nine applicants-accounting for 75 percent of the total-have proposed investments of Rs 1,816 crore for manufacturing air conditioner components such as copper tubes, aluminium stock, compressors, motors, heat exchangers, and control assemblies.

The remaining four applicants plan to invest Rs 98 crore in producing LED components, including chips, drivers, and heat sinks.

The proposed investments span six States, covering 13 districts and 23 project locations, and are expected to boost regional manufacturing capacity and employment generation.

Since its launch, the PLI Scheme for White Goods has drawn a total committed investment of Rs 10,335 crore from 80 approved beneficiaries.

The initiative is projected to drive production worth Rs 1.72 lakh crore and create around 60,000 direct jobs nationwide.
