Tennessee Gears Up To Celebrate International Human Rights Day:“Challenging Hate-Standing Together For Universal Human Rights”
This powerful annual celebration shines a spotlight on those making a difference across Tennessee-local heroes who champion fairness, equality, and compassion. Honorees will be recognized in three categories: Rising Advocate, Outstanding Service, and Lifetime Achievement.
Guests can look forward to an inspiring panel discussion, heartfelt stories, and a renewed call to action on this year's theme:
“Challenging Hate: Standing Together for Universal Human Rights.”
“Human Rights Day is both a celebration and a challenge,” said Rev. Brian Fesler, event planning chair and pastor of the Church of Scientology.“This year's theme calls on all of us to unite against division and discrimination. It's a time to reflect on our shared humanity, to honor those who have advanced equality, and to renew our commitment to making human rights a fact in every community.”
The event brings together a dynamic coalition of organizations and advocates, including the Metro Human Relations Commission, the Civil Rights Enforcement Division of the Tennessee Attorney General's Office, Tennessee United for Human Rights, the United Nations Association, Nashville Cordell Hull Chapter, the Church of Scientology, and many others who share a vision of equality and dignity for all.
Each year, the celebration grows-filled with energy, hope, and a powerful sense of community. Organizers invite everyone to be part of this movement: come celebrate progress, connect with like-minded advocates, and stand together for human rights in Tennessee and beyond.
