(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 6 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah chaired, at Bayan Palace on Thursday, the 33rd meeting of the ministerial committee tasked with reviewing the state's major development projects.
The meeting discussed the fruitful outcomes of the recent visit by Vice President of the People's Republic of China, Han Zheng, on November 1 and 2.
The visit focused on bilateral strategic ties, particularly within the fields of economy, investments, commerce, industry, transportation, infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), food and digital security, and civil aviation.
His Highness the Prime Minister said that seven agreements and Memoranda of Understandings (MoUs) signed on September 22nd, 2023, during His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's visit to China and meeting with President Xi Jinping, were historic and transformative in terms of solidifying comprehensive partnership, particularly in various joint projects.
For his part, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and rapporteur of the committee, Ambassador Sameeh Hayat, said that the meeting had current and future stages of cooperation, aiming to implement in more of the previously signed agreements.
Discussions also covered the developments regarding the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, power grid and renewable energy cooperation, oasification projects, housing, and infrastructural development, he added.
Attending the meeting were Chief of His Highness the Prime Minister's Diwan Abdulaziz Al-Dakheel, Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abdullatif Al-Meshari, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy as well as Acting Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem.
Also present were Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Head of the Fatwa and Legislation Department Counselor Saleh Al-Majed, and Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, and Ambassador Sameeh Hayat. (end)
