Turkish Intelligence Chief, Hamas delegation hold talks on Gaza truce
(MENAFN) Turkish Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin held talks on Wednesday in Istanbul with a delegation from Hamas to review the Gaza ceasefire. The Hamas team was led by Khalil al-Hayya, a member of the group’s Political Bureau and head of its negotiation team.
During the discussions, the Hamas delegation conveyed appreciation to Türkiye, especially President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for the country’s role as mediator and guarantor in establishing and monitoring the ceasefire. They also emphasized their commitment to the agreement despite violations by Israel throughout the ceasefire period.
The meeting focused on measures required to ensure the ceasefire process functions effectively and on resolving existing challenges. Both sides also discussed strategies for implementing the next stages of the ceasefire plan.
