Berezhna: Diaspora Is Important Partner In Advocating For Support Of Ukrainian Culture

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture Tetyana Berezhna said this at a press conference on the sidelines of an informal meeting of EU culture ministers in Copenhagen on Monday, Ukrinform reports.

"The diaspora is our huge and important partner, and right now not only the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund is being created, but also the Cultural Resilience Alliance," Berezhna said, adding that a number of Ukrainian diaspora organizations have already joined the initiative.

Berezhna expressed hope that the Alliance would help Ukraine unite partners around the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund.

The minister explained that since many Ukrainians have found themselves outside the country due to the war and other circumstances, the government recognizes the need to maintain close ties with them:

"One of the channels of connection could be that they become ambassadors who raise awareness about our Fund and help us here in Ukraine attract even more resources and artists," Berezhna said.

During the informal meeting with EU culture ministers, Berezhna thanked partners for their initial contributions to the recently launched Cultural Heritage Fund.
