Two Palestinian Youths Get Killed in West Bank

(MENAFN) Two young Palestinians lost their lives following an assault by illegal Israeli settlers and subsequent gunfire from the Israeli army in the occupied West Bank early Monday, as reported by official sources.

According to a news agency, 19-year-old Ahmed Rubhi al-Atrash was fatally shot in the head at point-blank range by an illegal settler near the northern entrance of Hebron.

Eyewitnesses informed the agency that Israeli troops obstructed Red Crescent medics from reaching al-Atrash, leaving him to bleed on the ground until he succumbed to his injuries.

His remains were later removed after his relatives were summoned to confirm his identity.

In a different episode, the Health Ministry reported that Jamil Atef Hannani, aged 17, died from severe injuries sustained on Sunday evening when Israeli soldiers fired during a military raid in the town of Beit Furik, located east of Nablus.

The Palestinian Red Crescent noted that he had been struck in the chest by live ammunition and taken to Rafidia Government Hospital, where he was declared deceased.

Violence has intensified throughout the occupied West Bank since October 2023, resulting in the deaths of over 1,063 Palestinians and injuries to approximately 10,300 others, based on Palestinian statistics.

In a pivotal judgment delivered last July, the International Court of Justice ruled that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories is illegal and demanded the removal of all settlements within the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
