According to her account, the perpetrators tricked her by claiming there was a problem with the rear tire of her vehicle. When she got out to check, one of them opened the opposite door and stole the money before fleeing the scene.

An image shared by the police shows the customer assessing her car while the theft was being carried out behind her back.

The investigation team immediately sprang to action, forming a specialised unit to track down the suspects and gather information.

Within three hours, they were able to identify the culprits, discovering that they were wanted for similar crimes in another emirate. In coordination with Sharjah Police, the gang was apprehended and referred to the competent authorities to legal procedures.

The authority urged the public to exercise caution when leaving banks, to avoid falling for deceptive schemes or interacting with strangers, and to report any suspicious activities immediately to ensure a prompt response and necessary legal actions.

This is not the first time that authorities have taken action. Back in September, two Asian men were sentenced for life for smuggling and possessing 925 narcotic tablets through Fujairah International Airport.

In addition to the life terms, the court ordered the confiscation of the drugs, deportation of the convicts after serving their sentences, settlement of court fees, and Dh2,000 payment to the court-appointed lawyer.

Meanwhile in June, the emirate's court upheld a six-month jail sentence against a man convicted of engaging in sorcery and violating the privacy of his wife and her family by sharing personal photos with an alleged 'spiritual healer' via WhatsApp.
