Gaza Government Condemns Israel for Ceasefire Violations

(MENAFN) Since the ceasefire took effect in the Gaza Strip on October 10, at least 97 Palestinians have lost their lives and 230 have been wounded due to actions by the Israeli military, with 21 violations reported on Sunday alone, according to the Gaza government.

In an official release, the Gaza Government Media Office stated that the “Israeli occupation committed 80 documented violations since the declaration of the ceasefire, in flagrant breach of international humanitarian law.”

The statement highlighted that these violations involved direct shooting at civilians, bombardments, intentional targeting, the establishment of “fire belts,” and the detention of non-combatants.

It detailed that Israeli forces employed military vehicles, tanks positioned near residential zones, electronic cranes fitted with remote targeting technology, as well as warplanes and quadcopter drones during the assaults.

“These violations were recorded in all governorates of the Gaza Strip without exception, confirming that the occupation has not adhered to the ceasefire and continues its policy of killing and terror against our people,” the announcement emphasized.

The Gaza administration placed full accountability on the Israeli military for these breaches and urged the United Nations along with the guarantor parties of the agreement to swiftly intervene and stop the ongoing violations.

The ceasefire pact, brokered between the Palestinian faction Hamas and Israel and based on a proposal by US President Donald Trump, came into effect on October 10.

This agreement includes provisions for the gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops, a reciprocal prisoner swap, the prompt delivery of humanitarian assistance, and the disarmament of Hamas.
