Paris’ Louvre Museum closes after reported robbery


(MENAFN) The world-renowned Louvre Museum in Paris was shut down to visitors on Sunday after a robbery occurred on the premises, according to official reports.

Authorities confirmed that the incident took place earlier in the day, prompting an immediate closure of the museum for security reasons.

“No injuries to report. I am on site alongside the museum teams and the police,” the French culture minister said in a post on X. She also noted that a formal investigation has been launched to determine the details of the theft.

The Louvre later announced on its official account that it would remain closed on Sunday “for exceptional reasons.”
