(MENAFN) Reports indicate that U.S. President Donald Trump met with several leading South Korean business figures for a round of golf at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Saturday, as trade discussions between the two nations remain ongoing.

The group reportedly included the heads of some of South Korea’s largest conglomerates, representing industries from technology and automobiles to energy. According to reports, the meeting was arranged by a well-known international investor and entrepreneur and took place as both governments work to resolve key tariff and trade issues with high economic stakes.

While details of who joined Trump on the course were not disclosed, a company representative said the executives "enjoyed the game with President Trump and discussed various topics." The White House has not commented on the event.

The informal gathering came as trade negotiators in Washington continued formal talks aimed at finalizing a tariff deal linked to South Korea’s planned $350 billion investment in the U.S. economy.

In addition, Trump is expected to travel to South Korea later this month ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, set to take place from October 31 to November 1 in the southeastern city of Gyeongju. Reports noted that he is scheduled to hold summit talks with South Korea’s president during the visit.
