Jordan Participates In Arab Meeting On Telecommunications Development In UAE

Amman, Oct. 19 (Petra) – A Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) delegation, headed by Board Member Nouh Al-Sheyab, took part in the fifth meeting of the Regional Preparatory Meeting for Arab States for the 25th World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25), held in the United Arab Emirates.
In a statement on Sunday, the TRC said the meeting aimed to unify Arab countries' positions on development sector priorities within the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), its executive decisions, and regional initiatives relevant to the Arab region.
Participants discussed ITU executive decisions and proposed amendments to better serve Arab interests and support the development of telecom services.
The meeting also reviewed the work mechanism of the development sector, potential amendments to study committee structures, and new topics for study, including emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, satellite communications, and digital transformation policies. It further addressed sector priorities and regional initiatives the ITU will implement through its regional office in the Arab region.
