Government Works On Model For Controlled Arms Exports

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was announced by Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Hvozdiar during her speech at the Kyiv International Economic Forum, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

“We are currently working with other ministries and the National Security and Defense Council on a model that will, first, be safe for our manufacturers, so that we can simultaneously serve the interests of the military and bring in as much money as possible, and second, open up our investment potential,” Hvozdiar said.

According to her, many foreign investors are already ready and willing to invest in Ukrainian defense tech companies. This will give businesses a boost for development and add useful technologies to the front lines.

"But no foreign investor will enter a market that is unclear to them, especially one with limited domestic purchasing power. Therefore, the decision to start controlled exports is the right one. There is now political will, and a mechanism is being formed which, we very much hope, will start working soon, and we will see the first agreements in the near future," Hvozdiar noted.
