Reports Of Russian Troops Landing On Karantynnyi Island False Ukrainian Military
According to him, in recent days, the situation in the Kherson sector has once again become the subject of Russian propaganda and information manipulation. Zavtonov noted that on October 15, the enemy made four assault attempts: three near the Antonivka bridges on the east bank of the Dnipro River and one near Velykyi Vilkhovyi Island. All attacks were carried out by small groups of two to three soldiers and were repelled by Ukrainian units without any change to the front line.
"Against this backdrop, Russian sources began spreading false claims about an alleged 'landing operation' on Karantynnyi Island in Kherson's Korabelnyi district. This fake has nothing to do with reality, as the geography of the area and the dense fire control maintained by units of the 30th Marine Corps make such an operation impossible," he said.

"The goal of these actions is less about achieving military gains and more about creating an information effect – to simulate activity and offset the lack of real success. That's why Russian propaganda accompanies every local skirmish with loud but false claims about supposed 'breakthroughs' or 'landings'," Zavtonov said.
In reality, he added, these attempts resulted in nine occupiers killed and another ten wounded. In addition, four enemy artillery pieces used to shell Kherson and nearby settlements were destroyed over the past day.
"We can conclude that the real situation is far less favorable than Russian propagandists describe, and any reports of 'landings' in Kherson should be viewed solely as part of the enemy's information and psychological operations," Zavtonov said.
Ukrainian forces liberated parts of the Kherson region on the west bank of the Dnipro River, including the city of Kherson, in autumn 2022. The part of the region on the east bank remains temporarily occupied by Russian troops.
