Emergency Power Outages Implemented In Kyiv And Nine Regions Ukrenergo

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to NPC Ukrenergo's statement on Facebook, outages are currently in effect in Kyiv city and the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, and parts of Khmelnytskyi and Cherkasy regions. The restrictions are a result of previous Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

In addition, hourly power outages scheduled in three stages have been implemented in the Chernihiv region. The measure follows sustained damage to regional infrastructure caused by Russian attacks in recent weeks. Emergency repair efforts are ongoing.

Ukrenergo also warned that from 16:00 on Thursday until the end of the day, power limitation schedules for industrial consumers-implemented in two stages-may be introduced across all regions of Ukraine.

As of the morning of October 16, new Russian attacks have left consumers without power in several regions. Restoration work has already begun.

At 07:30, electricity consumption across Ukraine remained consistent with the previous day, attributed to continued cloudy and cold weather across most regions.

“The need for energy conservation remains throughout the day. Please avoid using multiple high-powered electrical appliances at the same time,” the grid operator advised.

As previously reported, emergency power outages were implemented across Ukraine on the morning and evening of October 15.
