Amman, October 14 (Petra) – Minister of Transport, Dr. Nidal Qatamin, on Tuesday discussed ways to strengthen joint cooperation in the transport field with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan, Hamad bin Rashid Al-Marri.
During a meeting held at the ministry's headquarters, Qatamin reviewed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various transport sectors, particularly with regard to the exchange of expertise and training in the fields of land, maritime, and air transport, and meteorology areas, through workers of air academies, maritime education centers, and the Meteorology Training Center.
Qatamin called for building on the "solid" bilateral relations by strengthening technical and institutional cooperation in various transport sectors.
The ministry, he noted, attaches "remarkable" importance to developing partnerships with Kuwaiti side, given its "pioneering" expertise in the infrastructure and logistics fields.
For his part, the Kuwaiti envoy affirmed that Jordanian-Kuwaiti relations represent a "model to follow" in pan-Arab cooperation, praising the "key" development in the Kingdom's transport sector.
The diplomat also expressed his country's keenness to expand cooperation areas, exchange expertise, and facilitate land and maritime transport procedures between the two countries.
To date, the Kingdom has signed agreements with Kuwait in the fields of land, air and maritime transport and concluded a memorandum of understanding in the meteorology field.
Meanwhile, the meetings of the fifth session of the Jordanian-Kuwaiti Joint Higher Committee, held in Kuwait last July, affirmed the implementation of joint agreements in all fields.
