Trump Lands in Israel Before Launch of Gaza Peace Summit in Egypt


(MENAFN) U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Israel on Monday, marking a high-stakes diplomatic stop amid ongoing regional tensions, according to the country’s Government Press Office.

Trump was formally received at Ben Gurion Airport by Israeli President Isaac Herzog and his wife Michal Herzog, alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his spouse Sara Netanyahu, the press office confirmed.

As per the White House, Trump’s schedule includes a meeting with families of Israeli hostages and a planned address to the Knesset, Israel’s parliament.

Following his engagements in Israel, Trump is expected to leave for Egypt at 1 p.m. local time (1100 GMT) to take part in the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit on Gaza.
