Türkiye’s BIST 100 Index Closes Monday in Negative Territory


(MENAFN) Türkiye’s primary stock index, the BIST 100, concluded Monday’s session at 10,734.87 points, marking a 1.14% decline from Friday’s closing figure.

Starting the week at 10,884.87 points, Borsa Istanbul’s benchmark slid by 123.65 points, reflecting investor caution.

Throughout the trading day, the index fluctuated between a low of 10,706.05 and a high of 10,928.38 points.

Market breadth showed 24 stocks advancing, while 76 stocks dropped in value compared to the previous close.

The overall market capitalization of the BIST 100 stood near 9.94 trillion Turkish liras ($239.5 billion), with a daily turnover of 117.7 billion Turkish liras ($2.82 billion).

Commodity prices at 6:20 pm local time (1520 GMT) recorded gold at $3,952.40 per ounce and Brent crude oil near $65.25 per barrel.

Currency rates were as follows: US dollar to Turkish lira at 41.6930, euro to Turkish lira at 48.8685, and British pound trading at 56.2450 Turkish liras.
