Over 100 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Bombardment in Just Three Days

(MENAFN) The Gaza Strip has witnessed the deaths of 106 civilians in just three days, despite ongoing international efforts for a ceasefire, the Gaza Government Media Office reported.

In a statement issued late Monday, the office disclosed that Israeli artillery and airstrikes had targeted civilian-populated areas and displacement zones across Gaza. Since Saturday, 143 such airstrikes and artillery attacks have struck the enclave, leaving 106 dead, including women and children. The office noted that 65 of the fatalities occurred in Gaza City alone.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump urged Israel on Saturday to “stop bombing Gaza immediately” following a positive response from the Palestinian group Hamas to his ceasefire proposal.

The Gaza government condemned Israel's continuous genocidal crimes and highlighted the occupation's blatant disregard for global calls for peace. "This shows (Israel's) disregard to all international calls," the statement read.

The government also called on the United States and the international community to take urgent and decisive steps to halt the violence and ensure a genuine end to the genocidal war.

On Monday, indirect talks began between Israeli and Hamas negotiators in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, under Trump's 20-point plan. The proposal includes the release of Israeli captives within 72 hours of Israeli approval, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of Hamas.

Since October 2023, Israeli military actions have led to the deaths of more than 67,100 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children. The ongoing bombardment has left Gaza devastated, causing widespread displacement, severe shortages of food and medicine, and a public health crisis.
