Türkiye’s Stock Exchange Opens Monday with Marginal Gains


(MENAFN) Türkiye’s main stock market showed marginal gains at the opening bell on Tuesday, with the Borsa Istanbul's benchmark BIST 100 index rising 0.06% to reach 10,741.77 points, up 6.90 points from the previous session's close.

This uptick comes after the index recorded a notable drop of 1.14% on Monday, closing the day at 10,734.87 points. The market saw robust trading activity during the session, with a daily transaction volume totaling 117.7 billion Turkish liras, or approximately $2.82 billion.

Currency markets also opened the day relatively steady. As of 09:50 a.m. local time (0650GMT), the Turkish lira was trading at 41.7020 against the U.S. dollar, 48.7750 versus the euro, and 56.1495 to the British pound.

In commodities, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $3,960.20, continuing to reflect global uncertainty. Meanwhile, Brent crude oil was priced at $65.55 per barrel, marking a cautious tone in energy markets.

Markets remain closely watched as investors respond to both domestic financial indicators and global macroeconomic signals.
