Kuwait 1St Deputy PM Inspects Desert Shield, Storm Memorial In Washington


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Oct 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah inspected, during his official visit to Washington DC, the construction site for the National Desert Shield and Desert Storm Memorial, which set to be inaugurated in the fall of 2026 near the Lincoln Memorial.
The Kuwaiti official inspected the work done on the memorial dedicated to the sacrifices made during the 1991 Gulf War of liberation of the State of Kuwait.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister was briefed on the ongoing project and the artwork and details being put in place to reflect the cooperation and solidarity amongst the international coalition that led to the liberation of Kuwait.
Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf expressed his appreciation for the tremendous efforts being put into finalizing the memorial, saying that the gesture reflected the deep-rooted ties linking Kuwait and the US.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and the accompanying delegation arrived in Washington DC late Saturday on an official visit. (end)
