New Delhi- Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday described Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as a“room in our home called India,” asserting that it must eventually be“taken back.”

Speaking at the inauguration of a gurdwara at Sindhi Camp in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, Bhagwat invoked the memory of the Partition of 1947, describing it as a painful chapter that displaced millions, including Sindhi families who were forced to abandon their homes.

The RSS chief emphasized that despite India's diversity of languages, faiths, and sects, the spiritual essence of Bharat remains one. He asserted,“We all are Hindus. Today, we look at a broken mirror and think of ourselves as separate. We need unity.”

Reflecting on the Partition, Bhagwat said countless Indians were uprooted from their ancestral homes, especially in Sindh, Punjab, and Bengal, and that the time would come when“they must reclaim them and once again set up their dwellings.”

On Language and Identity

Amid ongoing debates over the imposition of Hindi, Bhagwat urged linguistic harmony, saying:

'The Clever Englishman' and the Broken Mirror

Taking a historical swipe at colonial rule, Bhagwat blamed British policies for creating divisions in Indian society.
