Erdogan To Trump: Israeli Occupation Must Stop Attacks


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, Oct 3 (KUNA) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a telephone conversation with his US counterpart Donald Trump on Friday, stressed that the Israeli occupation must cease offensives to pave the way for efforts aimed at restoring peace to the Middle East.
According to the presidency communication office, Erdogan hailed initiatives aimed at achieving peace in the region, noting Ankara's efforts at this level.
Ending the Israeli occupation attacks is crucial for success of the efforts aimed at achieving peace in the region, Erdogan said.
The conversation between the two leaders came against the backdrop of an initiative declared by Trump to end the Gaza war. Hamas said it was consulting with stakeholders before responding to the US proposal. (end)
