Ukraine Reports Russian Preparations For Renewed Attacks On Orikhiv Front

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Southern Defense Forces spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn said this in a comment to Ukrinform.

“According to our intelligence, in the Orikhiv sector of the front, enemy units preparing for assaults are currently being reinforced. The enemy is using mobilized Russian servicemen who refused to sign contracts with the Russian army to fill these assault companies,” he said.

The spokesperson noted that the objective of the offensive is to advance into the settlement of Stepove, dislodge Ukrainian units, and secure occupied positions.

“The enemy is moving personnel for these assault groups to the front lines, bringing some weapons, and forming teams of five to seven people at specific points. These groups will be involved in assault operations near Stepove,” Voloshyn explained.

He added that several days ago, Russian forces used aviation to strike Ukrainian fortifications and positions near Stepove. Preparations are now underway for continued assault attempts.

As Ukrinform reported, on October 1, 158 clashes between Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian occupiers were recorded on the front line.
