CBK Participates In GCC Campaign To Combat Financial Cyber Fraud

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Oct 2 (KUNA) -- The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) is participating in the joint awareness campaign among the central banks of the GCC countries to combat financial cyber fraud, the CBK said on Thursday.
A CBK statement indicated that the campaign's launch in October coincides with the Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and is the first of its kind among the GCC central banks.
This campaign stems from a sense of social responsibility towards the public, aiming to spread financial literacy among the broadest segment of society and increase public awareness of the risks of cyber fraud targeting customers in various ways and methods.
The campaign addresses a range of topics, including raising awareness about not sharing personal and financial data, warning against the risks of phishing and social engineering, fake accounts and websites, fake investment advertisements, and the risks of utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in phishing campaigns.
Furthermore, the campaign's awareness materials are being disseminated through CBK's social media accounts.
This initiative comes during the State of Kuwait's presidency of the GCC Central Banks Governors Committee, and the initiative is considered part of implementing the Joint Gulf Action Plan. (end) fnk
