Chernobyl NPP Blacked Out After Enemy Shelling Of Power Facility

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was reported by the Ministry of Energy on Facebook , according to Ukrinform.

“As a result of power surges, the New Safe Confinement, which is a key facility that isolates the destroyed fourth power unit of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and prevents the release of radioactive materials into the environment, was left without power,” the statement said.

Specialists are currently working to restore power supply.

Earlier, the Ministry of Energy reported that the Russians had attacked energy infrastructure in the Kyiv region.

"As a result of the UAV strike, residents of the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions remain without electricity. Repair crews continue to work at the site of the damage," the ministry said.

As reported by Ukrinform, there is no power supp y in Slavutych, Kyiv region, as a result of the Russian invaders' strike on a substation.
