Modi Endorses Trump’s Peace Proposal for Gaza
(MENAFN) Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed strong approval of US President Donald Trump’s recently introduced 20-point initiative designed to bring an end to the ongoing Gaza conflict.
Through a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Modi referred to the initiative as a “viable pathway” toward lasting and meaningful peace in the region.
Unveiled on Monday, Trump’s comprehensive peace proposal sets forth a structured approach to resolving the crisis in Gaza.
The plan emphasizes several key actions, including an immediate ceasefire, the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel, a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the disarmament of Hamas, and the formation of a transitional governing body supervised by an international organization.
Modi stated in his post, “It provides a viable pathway to long term and sustainable peace, security and development for the Palestinian and Israeli people, as also for the larger West Asian region.”
He added that he hopes all involved parties will unite in support of President Trump’s efforts to bring an end to the conflict and establish peace.
Additionally, the foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Qatar, and Egypt have also shown their endorsement of the peace plan.
According to a report by Times of Israel, the proposal includes a provision offering safe passage for Hamas leaders out of Gaza—provided that the remaining 48 hostages are released within 48 hours of Israel formally accepting the plan.
