I am a Lecturer in Criminology and Criminal Justice at Bangor University. I have a BA in Criminology and Criminal Justice and an MA in Comparative Criminology from Bangor University. In 2010 I was awarded my PhD for an Examination of Identity Theft and Identity Fraud and the Role of the National Identity Card Scheme. Since then I have worked on studies of rural victimisation and privatisation of the probation service. I have also produced papers on Professional criminals in popular culture and How surveillance technology and practice is represented in film.
My main research areas at the moment are: Crimes based on deception, victimisation in rural communities and public attitudes towards prison construction.
My teaching is focused on: Criminological theory, transnational crime and the use of imprisonment and punishment in society.
