Fidan, Qatari Counterpart Confer on Regional Developments
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke by phone on Friday with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss regional issues, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.
The officials highlighted ongoing cooperation between their countries in Middle East diplomacy. Türkiye and Qatar, alongside Egypt, were instrumental in securing the ceasefire in Gaza last October.
Both nations are also members of the Board of Peace, an international initiative led by US President Donald Trump, which was originally established to oversee reconstruction efforts in Gaza following Israel’s nearly two-year military campaign. That conflict resulted in the deaths of over 71,000 Palestinians and left roughly 90% of the territory’s infrastructure destroyed.
