Kuwait Radio Chosen For Gulf Broadcast On World Radio Day '26


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Sept 26 (KUNA) -- The Permanent Committee for Broadcasting at the Arab States Broadcasting Union announced Friday, that Kuwait Radio will conduct international broadcasting for the Gulf region as part of the activities celebrating World Radio Day 2026.
The Arab States Broadcasting Union stated in a press release that UNESCO organizes this annual celebration, with the 2026 theme focusing on "Radio and Artificial Intelligence," and Kuwait Radio will broadcast alongside Iraq, Algeria, and Jordan.
Following the committee meeting, the union announced topics for the 2026 broadcasting competitions, including "Through Arab Eyes," exploring the history of ancient Arab cities, and "Arab Figures," highlighting prominent personalities protecting the Arabic language across the region.
The union also confirmed ongoing media support for the Palestinian cause, discussed developing the 15th Arab Music and Singing Competition, proposed the Arab Audiobooks Group, and selected "Radio Content Security in the Digital Environment" for the annual 2026 workshop with practical experiences shared.
