Afghan Teen Survives Flight To Delhi Hidden In Plane Landing Gear
New Delhi: A 13-year-old Afghanistani boy survived a dangerous journey from Kabul, Afghanistan to New Delhi, India inside an airplane's landing gear compartment, several news reports indicated.
Indian officials say the 13-year-old boy, who snuck into the landing gear of a Delhi-bound Kam Air flight, was spotted by the airport authorities wandering around the tarmac after the aircraft landed last Sunday.
The boy, dressed in national Afghan garb and a coat, was detained by Indian security personnel and questioned for several hours before being sent back to Kabul on the same flight.
According to BBC, he reportedly told authorities that he had stowed away in the rear central landing gear compartment of the plane, and that he made the journey out of curiosity, and the had intended to arrive in Iran.
