Doha, Qatar: Over 11,000 fake luxury items were seized in a shipment container arriving at Hamad Port, according to the General Customs Authority.
The attempt was foiled by the Anti-Smuggling and Harmful Trade Practices Department, according to an announcement on social media by the Authority.
The items were discovered upon an inspector's suspicion regarding the details provided in a customs declaration for one of the shipments arriving through Hamad Port.
The inspection led to the discovery of thousands of fake boxes, bags, and warranty certificates for global jewellery brands.
The total number of seized items consisted of 11,491 boxes and fake warranty certificates.
