Türkiye’s Stock Exchange Opens Thursday in Green


(MENAFN) Türkiye’s main stock index kicked off Thursday trading on a strong note, with the Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 rising 0.66% to reach 11,442.42 points—marking a 75.49-point gain from the previous session’s close.

On Wednesday, the index had posted a modest gain of 0.31%, ending the day at 11,366.93 points. Total trading volume stood at 167.8 billion Turkish liras, or approximately $4 billion.

As of 09:55 a.m. local time (0655 GMT), currency markets showed the Turkish lira trading at 41.4720 against the US dollar, 48.8275 versus the euro, and 55.9815 to the British pound.

Meanwhile, commodity prices showed gold at $3,741.85 per ounce. Brent crude oil was priced at $68.35 per barrel.
