Amir's Speech Outlines Qatar's Priorities In Achieving World Peace
Doha, Qatar: Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani praised the address of the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani delivered before the United Nations General Assembly.
Sheikh Khalifa described the speech as strong and comprehensive, stressing that it outlined Qatar's clear priorities in contributing to global peace and security. He noted that the H H the Amir emphasised the need to restore collective security in line with the United Nations Charter and the fundamental principles of respect for international law and the sovereignty of states.
He pointed out that His Highness addressed the issue of Israeli aggression against Qatar with clarity and transparency, condemning the conduct of the Israeli government as that of a rogue state. He added that H H the Amir described the attack as a blatant violation of international norms and a heinous act of state terrorism targeting a peace-making country that has been working tirelessly for two years to help end the war on Gaza.
Sheikh Khalifa further highlighted H H the Amir's affirmation that Qatar has chosen to uphold international law and is unafraid to speak the truth. He stressed that Qatar would remain an active partner in the international community by pursuing peaceful dispute resolution and continuing its mediation efforts in different regions of the world.
He also underscored His Highness's remarks about Qatar's proven success in hosting major international events, which has gained the trust and confidence of the global community. He affirmed that Qatar would continue to play this role by hosting many more international gatherings in the future.
