(MENAFN- Live Mint) The funeral of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has drawn a high-profile list of attendees. First Lady Melania Trump was expected to appear alongside her husband, President Donald Trump, at the memorial service in Arizona. However, she hasn't arrived at the event yet.

The event, titled“Building a Legacy, Remembering Charlie Kirk”, will be held on Sunday, September 21, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, home of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals. The arrangements were confirmed by Turning Point USA, the organisation Kirk co-founded, which invited members of the public to join in paying their respects.

Among those confirmed or attending are Charlie's widow and Turning Point USA's chair Erika Kirk , businessman Elon Musk, Vice President JD Vance, United States Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and conservative figure Mikey McCoy.

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio, United States Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr , and Franz Turek, friend of Charlie Kirk who was standing 25 feet (8m) from him when he was shot.

Other people also include American singer and songwriter Kari Jobe Carnes, her husband and singer-songwriter Cody Carnes, and former talk show commentator on Fox News, Tucker Carlson.

Donald Trump Jr, is also attending the event and addressed the crowd. He called Charlie his 'younger brother' too.

President Trump is scheduled to deliver remarks, while questions remain about whether first lady Melania Trump will also make a public appearance at the gathering.

Sharing a video of the packed arena on X, Musk wrote:“Every seat in this giant arena that isn't roped off for security is packed to the ceiling. Honoured to be here. All for Charlie Kirk (sic).”

Brandon Lake, Chris Tomlin, Phil Wickham, Cody Carnes and Kari Jobe Carnes are confirmed to perform at the event, according to the organisers' website. They will be joined by country singer Lee Greenwood, best known for“God Bless the USA,” and recording artist Steve Amerson.

The memorial has drawn thousands of attendees, with worship and music forming a central part of the programme in remembrance of Kirk's life and work.

Axios reported that the conservative activist is set to be buried in Phoenix, Arizona, the city he considered his adoptive hometown. Authorities have not provided any official word on whether the memorial service will feature an open casket.

Charlie's widow, Erika , addressed the crowd with a powerful speech, where she spoke about her late husband. She said, "God bless all of you for coming here from all over the world to honour and celebrate my Charlie. Eleven days ago God accepted that total surrender from my husband and then called him to his side."

Erika also spoke about their marriage and how it was the best thing that happened to them.

What happened to Charlie Kirk?

On September 10, 2025, American political activist Charlie Kirk was shot dead while speaking at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah. The gathering marked the opening stop of the American Comeback Tour, a lecture and debate series organised by Turning Point USA , the conservative group he co-founded.

Kirk was struck in the neck by a bullet while responding to a question from the audience on the issue of mass shootings in the United States. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors later confirmed his death.
