Liverpool Beat Everton 2-1, Maintain Premier League Lead

LONDON, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- Liverpool made an impressive debut in the fifth round of the Premier League, beating the guests Everton 2-1 on Saturday.
Ryan Gravenberch opened the scoring in the 10th minute at the Anfield stadium with a fine finish and then teed up Hugo Ekitike to double the Reds' lead on the half-hour mark.
Idrissa Gueye, Senegalese professional footballer and defensive midfielder for Everton, pulled one back for the Blues in the second half, but Liverpool held on to maintain their perfect start to the defence of the Premier League title after five games.
The result of the game raised Reds' tally of points to 15 atop of the Premier League's rankdings while the Blues' tally froze at seven. (end)
