Charlie Kirk's Producer Says Activist Wanted South Park Parody To Remain On Air After His Death

(MENAFN- Live Mint) A producer of 'The Charlie Kirk Show' has said that Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist killed earlier this month, would have wanted the 'South Park' episode making fun of him to stay on air.

Andrew Kolvet, an executive producer of the show and a close friend of Kirk, wrote on X,“As someone who can speak with some authority on this, Charlie loved that he was featured in 'South Park.' He told me many times. He would want the episode back up (sic).”

The episode, called 'Got a Nut', aired on August 6. It showed Cartman copying Kirk's hairstyle and setting up a table to argue with students. After Kirk was shot dead on September 10 while speaking at a university, Comedy Central stopped showing the episode on TV. However, it is still available to stream on Paramount+ .

Kirk had reacted well when the episode was first teased. Speaking to Fox News Digital in July, he said:“Honestly, my first reaction was that I kinda laughed.” He added that he saw the parody as proof of his movement's cultural impact, calling it a“badge of honour.”

He also said conservatives should not take themselves too seriously.“We as conservatives need to be able to take a joke. We shouldn't take ourselves so seriously. That's something that the left has always done, to great detriment to themselves and the movement. Look, they're professional comedians. They're probably going to roast me, and I think that's fine. That's what it's all about, being in public life and making a difference.”

At the time, Kirk even changed the social media profiles for 'The Charlie Kirk Show' on Instagram and TikTok to a screengrab of Cartman copying him. Those images remain today.
