Kuwait Welcomes UNSC Resolution On Prisoners, Missing Persons File

KUWAIT, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwait welcomed on Thursday the Security Council Resolution No. 2792 on appointing a high-level representative of the Secretary-General of the UN to support and facilitate efforts related to determining the fate of Kuwaiti prisoners and missing persons and third-country nationals, and recovering their remains, in addition to recovering Kuwaiti property, including the national archives.
In a statement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended all the efforts made by the member states of the Security Council in this context, which culminated in the unanimous adoption of the resolution.
It also affirmed Kuwait's commitment to supporting the High-Level Representative of the UN to achieve the fullest possible accomplishment of the tasks entrusted to him. (end)
