FBI investigates roommate of Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer
(MENAFN) Federal authorities have questioned the roommate of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who has been charged with the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, according to reports in the US.
Investigators revealed that Robinson had been in a “romantic relationship” with an individual transitioning from male to female, with whom he lived in St. George, Utah. Officials stressed that this person has been “extremely cooperative” and faces no accusations related to the attack.
Public documents connected Robinson to 22-year-old Lance Twiggs, listed at the same residence. A family member confirmed Twiggs was Robinson’s roommate but declined to discuss their relationship further.
The FBI stated it is combing through “a mountain of evidence,” including digital communications between Robinson and Twiggs, examining “every connection, every group, every link and anyone tied” to the incident. Messages retrieved from their devices reportedly referenced a rifle concealed near Utah Valley University, the site of Wednesday’s shooting.
Authorities later seized a Mauser .30-caliber bolt-action rifle, along with ammunition etched with messages such as “Hey fascist! Catch!” and a line from the song Bella Ciao. Other casings carried imagery from furry subculture and one inscription reading: “If you read this you are gay lmao.”
According to accounts from multiple sources, investigators are considering whether Robinson’s actions were influenced by hostility toward Kirk’s opposition to the “LGBTQ agenda” and gender transition practices. One source added that the roommate was “aghast” upon learning of the killing and immediately provided the FBI with communications from Robinson.
