How to get better at solving NYT Connections?

NYT Connections, like other word games, tests your vocabulary and common sense. You should be able to draw a link between the words to create distinct groups. Since only three mistakes are allowed, be very careful with the choices. Make the submissions only after you are confident. Most people who approach the puzzles in a hurry get them wrong. Always remember that the yellow and green groups will have synonymous words. Make sure you have a lucid understanding of the cultural references for the blue group. And if you notice wordplays, reserve them for the purple group in the puzzle.
