Kuwait Condoles With Portugal Over Fatal Tram Accident

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Sept 5 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait has sympathized with the friendly Republic of Portugal over dead funicular train's accident that had killed and wounded scores of people earlier this week.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement released on Friday, expressed deep condolences and solace to the Portuguese government, people and the victims' families wishing the injured quick recovery.
At least 16 people died and five other suffered serious injuries in the accident. The funicular veered off a steep stretch of tracks Wednesday in a Lisbon's district, frequented by tourists, crashing into a building. (end)
