Eurozone Inflation Slightly Rises
(MENAFN) The annual inflation rate in the euro zone increased to 2.1% in August, up from 2% recorded in July, according to an announcement made on Tuesday by Eurostat.
Looking at the primary contributors to inflation, the category of food, alcohol, and tobacco experienced the highest yearly rate in August, standing at 3.2%.
This was closely followed by services, which rose by 3.1%, and non-energy industrial goods, which increased by 0.8%.
In contrast, the energy sector saw a reduction of 1.9% in August, continuing the downward trend after a 2.4% drop in July.
When examining inflation rates across member countries, Estonia reported the highest figure at 4.6%, followed by Slovakia at 4.3%, and Latvia at 3.7%.
On the other end of the spectrum, the lowest inflation rates were recorded by the Greek Cypriot Administration at 0.4%, France at 0.6%, and Ireland at 1.4%.
