Families Of Fallen Servicemembers To Benefit From Solar Project
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, Sep. 1 (Petra) – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said Monday about 3,115 families of martyrs of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and security services will benefit from a cabinet decision to install solar photovoltaic systems in their homes.
The ministry said that, under the decision, it will award bids for the project after receiving lists of beneficiaries from the Personnel Affairs Directorate/Social Support Division. A 3.6-kilowatt solar system will be installed in each home, provided that a beneficiary owns the property, within or outside municipal boundaries.
If a home is part of a multi-apartment building, a no-objection letter from the building's residents must be obtained, it said. Beneficiaries are also required to submit documents on the site and a clearance certificate from the electricity distribution company.
The ministry stressed that the decision, approved by the cabinet on Sunday, reflects national efforts to honor the families of fallen servicemembers and ease burdens on them, while expanding reliance on renewable energy.
