Heavy Rains Claim 31 Lives in Pakistan


(MENAFN) At least 31 people have died and 26 others injured across Pakistan due to rain-related incidents between Sunday and Monday, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported on Monday.

The hardest hit was Punjab in the east, where 25 fatalities were recorded, including eight children and two women. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the northwest saw four deaths, while Balochistan in the southwest reported the death of one child. Additionally, one person lost their life in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.

With more rain forecast in the coming days, authorities warn of heightened risks of flooding and landslides. Officials are closely monitoring the situation as unstable weather continues to affect several regions nationwide.
