Twenty Palestinians, including five journalists, one firefighter are murdered by Israel
(MENAFN) An Israeli strike on the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, killed 20 Palestinians on Monday, including five journalists and a firefighter, with several others injured, according to health officials and eyewitnesses.
The Israeli military reportedly targeted the top floor of the emergency section, known as the “Al-Yassin” floor. Medical sources confirmed that the death toll rose from eight to 20 after additional victims succumbed to injuries. The Gaza Health Ministry stated that the casualties included patients, healthcare workers, civil defense personnel, and media crews.
Officials said the Israeli army struck the fourth floor of one building twice, with the second attack occurring as rescue teams arrived to evacuate the wounded and recover the dead. Among the journalists killed were Hussam al-Masri, a cameraman for Palestine TV; Mohammad Salama of Al Jazeera; Mariam Abu Dagga, a photojournalist; Moaz Abu Taha; and Ahmed Abu Aziz, a freelance reporter working with Tunisian and Moroccan outlets.
The Palestinian Civil Defense reported that a fire engine driver died during rescue operations and that seven other team members were injured while attempting to save victims and recover bodies.
