Wajba is a digital platform that allows food and beverage suppliers to sell surplus items at promotional prices, reducing food waste and making meals more affordable. The Jaras platform, on the other hand, helps children learn through short educational clips and interactive activities, encouraging skills and movement in young learners.
Other innovative businesses also participated, such as Unlabeled, a mobile app that allows small and medium-sized businesses to create e-commerce websites instantly without the need for technical skills, and WeFit, a technology platform that connects users to gyms and trainers, enabling instant bookings for memberships, classes, and personalized training.
The award was presented by StartUp Bahrain, the country's startup platform supported by the Labor Fund (Tamkeen). The competition was organized by the platform in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Tamkeen, the Gulf state's Economic Development Board (EDB), and the Bahrain Development Bank (BDB).
