Jordan features Chinese animated blockbuster "Ne Zha 2" in theatre
(MENAFN) The Chinese animated blockbuster Ne Zha 2 had its first screening in Jordan on Monday evening, showcased as part of the 4th Jordan Children’s Film Festival.
The event, co-organized by the China Cultural Center in Amman and the Royal Film Commission, attracted officials, cultural figures, and hundreds of children from local welfare institutions.
Nedal Al Ahmad, secretary-general of Jordan’s Culture Ministry, highlighted the “long and continuous” cultural ties between Jordan and China, noting that exposure to diverse cultures expands knowledge and that the film offers Jordanian children a unique opportunity to experience Chinese culture.
Royal Film Commission Director Mohannad Bakri added, “Perhaps the story of this film is not only about entertainment, but also about showing how similar we are to each other.”
The screening featured an Arabic-dubbed version, performed by regional voice actors to better connect with local audiences. After the festival debut, Ne Zha 2 will be released in Jordanian cinemas for a wider audience to enjoy contemporary Chinese animation.
Globally, the film has earned over $2.1 billion, placing it among the highest-grossing animated films in history.
